October 19 saw CCR 2023 swing open the doors to a world where medical brilliance meets aesthetic elegance head-on. As the venue buzzed with excitement, attendees were welcomed into a landscape of six captivating stages, each spinning its own tale in the grand saga of aesthetic medicine and beauty.

The Dazzling Highlights from Day 1
Masterclass Sessions
At CCR 2023, the Masterclass Sessions on day 1 provided an enriching platform for aesthetic professionals to learn from industry veterans. The session “How to Get Noticed in a Competitive Space” by Dr. Tapan Patel and Dr. Priya Verma offered strategies for enhancing digital presence, reputation management, and networking. Following this, the “Art of Consultation” session, also led by Dr. Patel and Sarah Gaughan, emphasised the importance of patient-centric approaches for optimal treatment outcomes.
The session further transitioned into “How to Create a Treatment Plan” by Dr. Patel and Dr. Manav Bawa, highlighting a fantastic balanced approach to treatment planning. The “Complications Discussion” session discussed risk mitigation and managing unforeseen complications, vital for patient safety and satisfaction. The real highlight of the day though, was the “Live Treatment Models with Dr. Tapan Patel” session, showcasing aesthetic injectable techniques, blending finesse and precision.
Symposium Stage
Day 1 at the Symposium Stage at CCR 2023 was the perfect hub for exploring cutting-edge technology in aesthetic medicine. Dr. Andrew R. Christie led a riveting session on “Understanding Exosomes in Aesthetics,” unravelling the potential of exosome technology in regenerative therapies.
Following, Dr. Bartlomiej Sobolewski presented “Lenisna and Juvelook – Advanced Hybrid Collagen Stimulators,” with a live demo that showcased the advancements of these third-generation stimulators in enhancing aesthetic outcomes. The session provided practical insights into product preparation, treatment techniques, and the tangible effects observed over time, expanding the attendees’ understanding of the potential of these technological advancements.
In Practice Theatre
The first day in the In Practice Theatre at CCR 2023 was a hub for engaging discussions and knowledge sharing in the aesthetics realm. The theatre kicked off with a four-part series, “Getting Started in Aesthetics,” led by Dr. Emily Mehta and Dr. Tristan Mehta, providing a vivid canvas for budding aestheticians.
The session “Updates from Aesthetic Associations” dissected the new licensing scheme proposed by JCCP, emphasising the importance of robust education and training standards in aesthetic practice. The afternoon session on “CQC Regulation” delved into quality assurance and clinical governance in aesthetic practices.
Lastly, the panel on “Women in Business” celebrated the achievements and shared the challenges of women leaders in aesthetics, offering beautiful inspiration and phenomenal guidance for aspiring women aestheticians.
Aesthetics Arena
Day 1 at CCR 2023’s Aesthetics Arena showcased a medley of insightful sessions and live demos led by aesthetic medicine experts. The “Eyes and Lips: Treating the Dynamic Duo” session, chaired by Miss Elizabeth Hawkes, featured Dr. Raul Cetto and Professor Francesco Bernardini, illustrating the effective use of dermal fillers for preserving facial youthfulness.
Following that was the session on “The Balanced Profile” by HITs by Galderma, chaired by Mr. Jeff Downie, with Dr. Lara Watson and Dr. Yusra Al-Mukhtar, which highlighted a holistic approach to achieving a harmonised facial profile. The afternoon’s fascinating “Research Round-up” dived into the latest medical aesthetic findings on various topics, providing a comprehensive look at evolving aesthetic treatments. The final highlight of the day was the “Perfecting The Lips” session, led by Dr. Ifeoma Ejikeme and Mel Recchia, which offered a practical discourse on lip augmentation techniques.
Innovation Stage
The Innovation Stage at CCR 2023 day 1 spotlighted pioneering technologies and narratives from the cream of the crop in aesthetics. It kicked off with the unveiling of e-Magnescence by Bloomea Paris, showcasing a novel technology for non-invasive skin tightening and muscle sculpting. Sarha Courtnay, the founder of Advanté Aesthetics, shared her journey of setting up her boutique clinic, highlighting the role of EMFACE in its early success.
Later, Dr. Nichola Conlon discussed the potential of NAD+ in treating ageing, showcasing “Nuchido: NAD+ Treating Ageing at the Cellular Level” as a promising dietary supplement for restoring cellular NAD+ levels. The introduction to the Next Generation of Smart Peels by Lira Clinical marked an evolution from traditional chemical peels, showcasing advancements in skin treatment technologies.
Last but certainly not least, Dr. Sabika Karim enlightened the audience on the “Emerald Laser” for safe and non-invasive body sculpting and fat loss, underlining the potential of laser technology in aesthetic treatments.

Medical Longevity Summit
The first day of the Medical Longevity Summit at CCR 2023 kicked off with Dr. Mayoni Gooneratne, who would chair the rest of the sessions for the day, “Introducing the Longevity Concept in Aesthetic Medicine and Healthcare”. Following, a session on integrating testing services into practice, with speaker Dr. Indra Barathan, emphasised a functional medicine approach for improving patient health.
Olga Hamilton then led a discussion on the connection between gut health, skin conditions, and ageing, elucidating the impact of a balanced diet on individuals’ appearance and well-being in the event “Optimising Longevity Through Nutrition & Gut Health”. Transitioning into hormonal health, Dr. Tanya Patrick focused on supporting patients through the peri-menopause phase, highlighting the importance of understanding hormonal transitions.
The longevity summit provided a comprehensive exploration into the holistic approaches towards medical longevity, intertwining ageing, aesthetic medicine, and a myriad of related topics.
The Afterparty
As day one of CCR 2023 wrapped up, the vibrant CCR Diwali Charity After Party, hosted by CCR and Dr. Tapan Patel, kicked off. The evening was filled with divine cuisine, lively entertainment, and dancing. Adorned in colourful attire, attendees celebrated while supporting a noble cause, as all proceeds were directed towards charity.
The amazing event not only marked a delightful conclusion to the day but also embodied the community spirit of the aesthetics realm, leaving attendees eagerly awaiting the unfolding experiences of day two at CCR 2023.
