I spent years dismissing eye cream as an expensive moisturiser in a smaller pot. But with age comes wisdom, and as it turns out, the skin around your eyes really does need a little extra TLC. These days, my eyes have an evening routine of their own, and I thought I’d share an eye cream I tried and tested recently.
The Brand
Some skincare brands become famous on TikTok. Others earn their reputation over decades. Revision Skincare belongs to a generation of professional skincare brands that built their reputation the old-fashioned way.
Alongside names like Dermalogica and Decléor, it was one of the brands I discovered during my modelling days in the ’90s. Back then, my skin endured heavy makeup, long-haul flights and makeup removers that would probably be illegal today. Looking back, those professional skincare brands did far more to keep my skin in one piece than I gave them credit for.
Which brings me to C+ Brightening Eye Complex, an eye cream designed to tackle one of midlife skin’s most persistent complaints: tired-looking eyes.
Inside The Formula
- MelaC+™ Technology
- 10% THD Ascorbate (Vitamin C)
- Caffeine
- Bioavailable Peptide Complex
- Prebiotic / postbiotic-style complex
- Antioxidants (including plant-derived antioxidant compounds)
- Humectants (hydration-supporting agents)
- Light-diffusing minerals
Professional-grade skincare is often defined by formulation complexity rather than a single headline ingredient. MelaC+™ Technology is a good example of that. It signals this isn’t a hero-ingredient formula. Instead, it’s built as a system, designed to target multiple causes of under-eye ageing at once.
So instead of relying on one hero active, the formula works like a coordinated team. THD Ascorbate (vitamin C) provides antioxidant and brightening support. Caffeine helps address puffiness linked to fluid retention. The peptide complex supports structural integrity and long-term firmness in the skin. Microbiome-supporting ingredients help maintain skin balance, while humectants and antioxidants support hydration and barrier function.
The peptide trio is designed to target three of the biggest contributors to tired-looking eyes: fluid retention, inflammation and thinning skin. They’re also selected for stability and bioavailability, meaning they remain active long enough after application to interact with the skin.

Here’s what they do:
- Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline) – helps reduce the look of puffiness by easing micro-tension and fluid build-up
- Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 – supports collagen and elastin production to strengthen and firm the under-eye area
- Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 – helps calm inflammation linked to puffiness, sagging and collagen breakdown
Put simply, C+ Brightening Eye Complex takes a layered approach to a difficult area of the face. It’s dealing with vascular congestion, pigmentation behaviour, structural thinning and barrier fatigue all at once.
Which sounds very promising, but did it live up to the hype?
The Verdict
At £125, C+ Brightening Eye Complex is undeniably an investment. But this isn’t a basic vitamin C eye cream.
I normally reserve eye cream for my evening routine, but this one has some potent antioxidant protection, so I applied it in the morning. Plus the metal applicator and caffeine do a great job of taking the edge off puffy morning eyes.
After a few weeks, the biggest difference I noticed was hydration. My under-eye area felt more supple, looked brighter, and that thin, papery, crepey texture had softened noticeably.
Expensive? Yes. But this isn’t just a vitamin C eye cream, or a caffeine eye cream. For me, it’s the peptide trio and delivery system that justifies the price. Midlife skin needs more than brightening alone; we need ingredients that also support collagen and skin structure. That’s what earned it a place in my routine.
