Which Korean Skin Booster Is Right For You?

    Juvelook vs Rejuran vs PDRN

Korean beauty or K-beauty has grown extensively in popularity in recent years. According to a BBC article: “K-beauty brands now occupy whole sections at global retailers – from Sephora to Boots to Walmart. In the first half of 2025, South Korea overtook France, the birthplace of modern cosmetics, to become the world’s second-largest exporter of beauty products, after the United States.”

Partner this trend with the emerging trend of regenerative aesthetics and you have the range of treatments which are currently stealing the spotlight.

Now patients are asking which Korean skin booster delivers the best results. Once largely confined to clinics in Seoul’s famous Gangnam district, these regenerative procedures are now appearing in aesthetic practices across Europe, North America, Australia and the Middle East.

These trending Korean procedures include Rejuran, PDRN and Juvelook, among others. Their popularity has resulted in many questions surfacing on social media platforms, such as: Is Juvelook better than Rejuran? What is the difference between PDRN and Juvelook? Which treatment lasts longer?

Experts say that the answer is more complex than identifying a single winner. Each treatment works differently, addresses different concerns and appeals to different patient goals. Understanding those differences is essential when deciding which option may be the best fit.

We look at each treatment in turn so that you can make the right decision for you:

    What Is Rejuran?

Rejuran is perhaps the treatment most closely associated with the Korean regenerative movement. Its primary ingredient is polynucleotide (PN), a highly purified DNA fragment derived from salmon. These polynucleotides are believed to support tissue repair, improve skin elasticity and enhance the skin’s natural healing processes.

Unlike fillers, Rejuran does not add volume. Instead, it works within the skin itself.

Patients often seek Rejuran to improve fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, redness and overall skin texture. It has also gained popularity for treating delicate areas such as under the eyes, where traditional fillers may not always be appropriate.

Many practitioners describe Rejuran as a treatment for skin health rather than facial contouring. Results tend to develop gradually over multiple sessions as the skin undergoes repair and regeneration.

    What Is PDRN?

PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotide. Like Rejuran, PDRN is derived from purified salmon DNA and is designed to support tissue repair and regeneration. In fact, Rejuran itself is part of the broader category of DNA-based regenerative treatments.

PDRN treatments have been used in medicine for years to assist wound healing and tissue recovery. Their application in aesthetics emerged as clinicians recognised their potential to improve skin quality and accelerate recovery after cosmetic procedures.

PDRN treatments are commonly used to address dull skin, dehydration, inflammation and early signs of ageing. Many practitioners also combine PDRN with microneedling, lasers and radiofrequency treatments to enhance healing and optimise results.

Compared with Rejuran, some PDRN products are formulated with slightly different concentrations or delivery methods, resulting in subtle variations in treatment outcomes.

For many patients, the distinction between Rejuran and PDRN is less about superiority and more about product formulation and treatment goals.

    What Is Juvelook?

Juvelook takes a different approach altogether. While Rejuran and PDRN focus primarily on tissue repair and regeneration, Juvelook combines regenerative technology with collagen stimulation.

The treatment contains polylactic acid (PLLA) microparticles suspended in non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid provides hydration, while the PLLA acts as a biostimulator.

Once injected, PLLA encourages fibroblasts to produce new collagen over time.

Rather than simply improving skin quality, Juvelook aims to rebuild the skin’s underlying support structure. This makes it particularly attractive for patients concerned about skin laxity, loss of firmness and early volume depletion.

Many practitioners position Juvelook somewhere between a skin booster and a collagen stimulator, offering benefits that extend beyond hydration and tissue repair.

    Is Juvelook Better Than Rejuran?

This is currently one of the most searched questions among aesthetic patients. The reality is that the two treatments serve different purposes.

Rejuran is often preferred when the primary goal is improving skin texture, reducing inflammation, minimising acne scars and enhancing overall skin health. Juvelook may be a better option for patients seeking collagen stimulation, firmer skin and longer-term structural improvement.

A patient with acne scarring, enlarged pores and dull skin may benefit more from Rejuran.

A patient noticing loss of elasticity and early sagging may be better suited to Juvelook.

Increasingly, practitioners are combining both treatments within comprehensive regenerative treatment plans. Rather than competing directly, they are often viewed as complementary therapies.

What Is the Difference Between PDRN and Juvelook?

The biggest difference lies in how they achieve results. PDRN treatments focus primarily on cellular repair and tissue regeneration. Juvelook focuses on collagen production.

PDRN works by supporting healing processes and improving skin quality at a cellular level. The treatment is particularly useful for patients seeking healthier, more hydrated and more resilient skin.

Juvelook stimulates the formation of new collagen, gradually improving firmness, elasticity and structural support.

As a result, PDRN may appeal to younger patients interested in prevention and skin maintenance, while Juvelook often attracts patients seeking more visible improvements in skin firmness and ageing concerns.

    Which Treatment Lasts Longer?

Longevity is another common patient concern.

PDRN and Rejuran treatments typically require multiple sessions and ongoing maintenance to sustain results. Improvements in skin quality can last several months, depending on the individual and the treatment protocol.

Juvelook generally offers longer-lasting results because collagen stimulation continues after treatment.

Many practitioners report that Juvelook outcomes can remain visible for 12 to 18 months, although maintenance treatments may still be recommended.

However, longer-lasting does not automatically mean better. Patients focused on skin healing, hydration and texture may prioritise the specific benefits of Rejuran or PDRN even if maintenance sessions are required more frequently.

The Future Of Korean Skin Boosters

The growing popularity of Juvelook, Rejuran and PDRN reflects a broader shift occurring throughout aesthetic medicine. Patients are increasingly moving away from dramatic transformations and toward treatments that improve skin quality, support natural ageing and enhance overall skin health.

This trend is also changing how practitioners approach consultations. Rather than asking how to eliminate every wrinkle, patients are increasingly asking how to maintain collagen, improve skin resilience and preserve healthy skin over time.

The Korean skin booster movement has played a major role in driving this change.

So Which Treatment Is Right For You?

The answer depends less on which product is considered the best and more on what you hope to achieve. For skin healing, texture refinement and scar improvement, Rejuran may be an excellent choice. For cellular regeneration, hydration and recovery support, PDRN treatments continue to gain popularity. For collagen stimulation, firmness and long-term structural improvement, Juvelook offers unique advantages.

As regenerative aesthetics continues to evolve, one thing is becoming increasingly clear. The future of beauty may not be about looking dramatically younger but about creating healthier skin which ages better, functions better and looks naturally radiant for years to come.
