5 Ways To Get Better Skin Without Going Under The Knife

When it comes to non-surgical skin rejuvenation, the options are more advanced and accessible than ever before. Gone are the days when a surgical facelift was the only way to achieve tighter, younger-looking skin. Modern technology now offers a range of minimally invasive treatments that deliver impressive results with little to no downtime.

With so many choices available, knowing which treatment is right for you can be overwhelming. Some, like HIFU (Ultraformer), work by stimulating collagen production deep within the skin. Others, like PRP therapy (commonly known as the vampire facial), harness the body’s own healing properties to create a smooth, even complexion. Meanwhile, traditional techniques such as facials and facial cupping continue to play an important role in improving skin tone and texture.

    1. Skin tightening treatment with Ultraformer (HIFU)

This ground-breaking method of achieving tighter, younger-looking skin is the non-surgical treatment everyone is talking about.

Ultraformer is a High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) device that carries out the same procedures a cosmetic surgeon would, but with no scalpel or knives in sight!

Treatment harnesses the power of ultrasound energy, which targets multiple layers of the skin to trigger collagen renewal for tighter, firmer skin.

A versatile treatment method, HIFU can also address issues like eliminating tenacious belly fat and loose and sagging skin.

    2. Microneedling

A safe treatment for all skin types, microneedling is a technique used to trigger collagen and elastin synthesis, encouraging the production of new collagen and elastin. These two components are essential in keeping your skin elastic and resistant to ageing.

Other skin concerns like burns, acne scars, hyperpigmentation and stretch marks can also be tackled with microneedling. Treatment involves a small derma roller covered with tiny needles being run over the skin. As intimidating as this might sound, you should only experience very minor discomfort, if any at all.

    3. Get a Facial

Something as simple as a facial can have fantastic benefits for your skin, especially during the colder months when the skin begins to lose its sparkle.

You should aim to exfoliate your skin thoroughly at least once every 2 weeks, though make sure you don’t exceed this as it’s important to preserve the skin’s essential antioxidants and lipids.

A facial has the power to tighten your skin, remove blotchiness and maintain good tone and texture.

Alongside your facial, you should be washing your face every evening to prevent the build-up of dirt and bacteria entering your pores.

    4. PRP therapy (the vampire facial)

This treatment attracted a lot of attention back in 2013 when Kim Kardashian posted the infamous picture of her on Instagram profile, covered in bloody pinpricks post-PRP therapy.

Though the treatment can leave you looking a little like a vampire, it’s a highly effective non-surgical alternative that triggers your body’s healing properties.

A very small amount of blood is drawn and platelets are drawn, as they’re the main component in the blood that possesses healing properties. They’re then injected across targeted areas of the face, inducing a healing process that leaves your skin even-looking in texture, tone and elasticity.

    5. Facial cupping

This may sound a little ridiculous as a concept but it’s a popular practice that originated as a key practice in the realm of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Facial cupping works pretty much as it says on the tin; cups are pressed against the skin across your face and the suction pulls blood into the area of the skin under the cup. The theory is that in doing this, an inflammatory response is triggered, flooding the area with white blood cells, responsible for healing the skin.

Other benefits associated with facial cupping include stronger skin and connective tissues, improved collagen production and relaxed muscle tension, which in turn leads to the improved complexion and brighter skin.

If you’ve tried any of the above, let us know about your experience in the comments!

This was a good read for me, I try to go for cupping as much as I can as its part of my culture and is also a great stress reliever. I might try the vampire facial as weird as it is, it seems a good option to give my skin that extra elasticity.

I would love to go for a facial right now but will have to wait till lockdown is over. Its a long time, but at least I wont have to go out anywhere before I get it done. Id also like to try facial cupping at some point

I have a small derma/skin roller with me at home, as much as I like it, Its not the same as going in to get microneedling done. I just cant wait to get my skin rejuvinated
